There might be 66 players in the Poker Hall of Fame, but many have been nominated and missed the cut. Even more are eligible for nomination, but can’t even make that short list.
Four-time WSOP bracelet winner Mike Matusow has been nominated the most times in the history of the Poker Hall of Fame. Matusow has been nominated 12 times from 2013-2014 and 2017-2026. Matt Savage, the Founder of the Tournament Director’s Association (TDA), ranks second with ten nominations from 2015-2018 and 2020-2025.
Six-time WSOP bracelet winner Ted Forrest ranks third with eight nominations. Two-time WSOP bracelet winner Chris Bjorin and PokerStars Co-Founder Isai Scheinberg rank fourth with seven nominations. Five-time WSOP bracelet winner David Chiu has been nominated six times each.
Bruno Fitoussi, Kathy Liebert, and Chris Ferguson have been nominated four times each, while Antonio Esfandiari, Josh Arieh, Max Pescatori, Thor Hansen, Humberto Brenes, and WSOP commentators Lon McEachern and Norman Chad have all been nominated three times each.
