The Poker Hall of Fame is introducing a major overhaul to its induction process in 2026, creating a new voting system that could see as many as six of the eight finalists inducted in a single year.
After the public vote determines the eight Poker Hall of Fame nominees, the final decision will be in the hands of the Poker Hall of Fame’s living members. Each living member will receive four votes, with the ability to cast one vote for up to four different nominees.
Any nominee who receives 22 or more votes from the living Poker Hall of Fame members will earn automatic induction into the Poker Hall of Fame. If no nominee reaches the 22-vote threshold, the nominee who receives the highest number of votes will still be inducted, ensuring that at least one new member joins the Poker Hall of Fame each year.
In another significant change, the World Series of Poker (WSOP) confirmed that the complete voting results will be made public, adding a new level of transparency to the Poker Hall of Fame selection process and allowing fans to see how every nominee performed.
The 2026 Poker Hall of Fame inductee(s) will be announce live on ESPN during the WSOP Main Event final table in early August.
